2. Federal protections
Under the federal Fair Housing Act, it is illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, disability, or familial status (presence of children under 18 in the household, including pregnant women).
3. New York State protections
The New York State Human Rights Law extends additional protections to residents of New York, including the categories listed in the Equal Opportunity Statement above. Brokers and salespersons are required by law to provide this notice to all prospective buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords.

4. How to file a housing discrimination complaint

5. Standards of operation
Advocate Realty Group and its agents will not, on the basis of any protected class:
- Refuse to provide real estate services
- Steer prospective buyers or tenants toward or away from particular neighborhoods
- Misrepresent the availability of property
- Set different terms, conditions, or privileges for the sale or rental of housing
- Make discriminatory statements or advertisements
